Report on Training of the micro-credential certification and credit evaluation practice in Project partner countries
The Training of the micro-credential Certification And Credit Evaluation Practice in Project partner countries was organized at the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities, Münster, Germany, 01-03 February 2023.
The meeting was held according to the Agenda, with a total of 8 representatives from Partner Institutions, one from University of Belgrade (UB), two from Qualification Agency of Serbia (QAS), three from Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities (ACEEU), and by one from the University of Lleida (UDL) and FH Joanneum Gesellschaft MBH (FHJ).
The meeting kicked off with the opening speech from ACEEU Chair Thorsten Kliewe and MICROGUIDE coordinator Sinisa Djurasevic. Following the opening words, the partners looked into the status quo of the project (reporting dates have been set for timesheet delivery and other reporting documents). One drive folder has been set up to manage and populate all the data, deliverables, and other documents.
Following the presentation of German state of certification and credit evaluation practice, the partners had a chance to listen to a German guest speaker Maximilian Köster from University of Applied Sciences Bielefeld. Maximilian got a chance to explain how micro-credentials are administered at his university. Interestingly, those micro-credentials are managed within Internationalisation Office as they are closely connected to student exchange and mobility (the so-called internationalization at home). In this case, micro-credentials are a way to simplify and foster more inclusive system for students at risk and students who are for one reason or another unable to carry out the physical international mobility. All partners had a chance to ask questions and discuss with Maximilian about the micro-credential opportunities and challenges.
Following the guest presentation, the presentation of certification and credit evaluation practices in Austria and Spain took place. After a lively discussion the partners started populating SWOT analysis on the country level regarding certification and credit evaluation practices. The analysis has been kept throughout the duration of the entire LTTA and summary was made at the end of the meeting.
Day 2 kicked off with the presentation of Serbian accreditation process (delivered by University of Belgrade and Qualification Agency). Following the presentation, the discussion followed on the best approach for the micro-credentials in Serbia. In line with the micro-credential goal, Thorsten Kliewe held a presentation on ways we can create synergies and bring knowledge from MicroGuide to sustain the results of a project INDEED (a teaching course on entrepreneurship skills for teachers). Following the presentation, the partners engaged in a lively discussion on how to create parallels between MicroGuide and INDEED project.
Day 3 kicked off with summarizing the conclusions of the SWOT analysis. It then proceeded with an interactive exercise where partners were asked to create their ideal micro-credential on institutional, national and international levels. All insights were captured on canvases that ACEEU prepared. The conclusion of the insights wrapped up the LTTA in Münster.
